  1. PGP and Security
  2. ================

  4. We encourage you to use PGP to verify that the files in this
  5. archive were not tampered with. This document is not designed
  6. to explain to you how to use, install, or encrypt files with
  7. PGP.
  8.  
  9. We have created a detached signature for the executable files
  10. in this package. You can get a copy of our PGP public key by
  11. sending a e-mail message to getpgp@command-hq.com The response
  12. will have our PGP public key. DO NOT TRUST ANY OTHER PUBLIC KEY
  13. REPOSITORIES!  OBTAIN OUR PUBLIC PGP KEY DIRECTLY FROM US!

  15. We will send you the public key of:
  16. Central Command Inc. <support@command-hq.com>
  17. Key fingerprint =  D1 B5 36 22 52 CD 5C 3D  EA C4 BE 93 A6 DB 8E D3

  19. Assuming you have installed PGP and added the public key of Central
  20. Command Inc., you can verify each of the files by giving
  21. the command below. Please perform the verification for each file!

  23. example:
  24. pgp avpve.asc avpve.exe
  25.  
  26. You should then see something like this:
  27.  
  28. File has signature.  Public key is required to check signature.
  29. File 'avpve.$00' has signature, but with no text.
  30. Text is assumed to be in file 'avpve.exe'.

  32. Good signature from user "Central Command Inc. <support@command-hq.com>".
  33.  
  34. If, instead, you get a "bad signature" message, it means that either you
  35. are using the wrong signature, or that the file has been tampered
  36. with. If this happened please contact us as soon as possible!
